about

The first volume in a series of "psychedelic dub plates".

Lovingly put together and remixed from a previously lost box of old Phenomena 256 jam/demo/improv tapes, which were originally recorded onto 4 track in 2019 at the band's old practice space in Eastworks.

These tapes were recently found by St. George and digitally transferred lovingly by Dylan Burton. The two then took things a step further after getting the transfers to make the sessions even more interesting. Thus marking the beginning of the "dub plate sessions". In which both take a turn at putting their own unique "dub" spin on the tape being played, and reworking it to the point of near unfamiliarity to the original.

Running the tapes through various effects. Adding samples, doing audio cut ups, and more. The duo takes on their own strange and out there approach to this project. Inspired by the classic spaced out dub of King Tubby, Scientist, Lee Scratch Perry, the trippy kraut jamming of Trad Gras Och Stenar, the solar poetry of Sun Ra, and the outsider explorations of the one and only Jandek, this one is bound to send you into hyperspace.

Samples here are taken from:

Sun Ra Arkestra - The Soul Vibrations Of Man
Jandek - Someone (Portland Thursday)
Jandek - Your Turn//Frosted Field (Worthless Recluse)
Jandek - It's Your House//I Went Outside (Put My Dream On This Planet)
Sun Ra - If You Are Not A Myth (Space Poetry Vol. 2 - The Sub Dwellers)
Dawn Of The Dead
Sun City Girls - El Mirage (Cloaven Theatre #1)
Sun Ra Arkestra - The Ridiculous "I" & The Cosmos Me (The Antique Blacks)
Jandek - OM (Somebody In The Snow)

This is the first in the series, but there are many more that will see the light of day soon enough. Until then, "We'll Wait For You!"
